12.2 Instructor’s Code of Ethics

The following Code of Ethics is deemed appropriate to the faculty of FNU. The Code is divided into two sections:

Section One: Principles of Ethics for the Instructor

  1. The FNU faculty seeks to be proficient in the art of teaching.
  2. The FNU faculty will always endeavor to be a person of integrity.
  3. The FNU faculty will have a comprehensive background in their field of study.
  4. The FNU faculty will present to their student’s objective truth, and label opinion and conjecture as such.
  5. The FNU faculty prepares their lessons in advance with a focus on student learning outcomes.

Section Two: Principles of Ethics regarding the Education of the Student

  1. The FNU faculty engages the student in the classroom in a respectful manner.
  2. The FNU faculty is precise in their research and in the presentation of that research, assigning credit where appropriate, and teaching their students the same research behavior.
  3. The FNU faculty is clear, precise, and just in their assignments, assessments, and grading.
  4. The FNU faculty is objective and consistent in the awarding of grades.
  5. The FNU faculty is alert to academic dishonesty and mindful of violations of the Student Honor Code.
  6. The FNU faculty does not participate in bias, favoritism, and criticism of their students.
  7. The FNU faculty does not seek or engage in personal relationships with students.
