6.21 Termination of Employment for Cause

Termination for “Cause” shall mean any of the following: misconduct; moral turpitude; harassment, discrimination, or retaliation; conduct inflicting physical, emotional, or moral harm; intemperance; insubordination; neglect of duty; incompetence; commission of an act of fraud or misrepresentation on the University; theft or embezzlement; use of any illegal drug or excessive use of alcohol on the job; breach of fiduciary duty; breach of duty of loyalty; violation of any policy in this Handbook; violation of institutional policy; or any other actions or omissions which are injurious, bring discredit upon, and/or financial exigency to the University. Whether Cause exists shall be determined by the University in its sole and absolute discretion.
