5.10 Academic Advisement

Academic advisement related to the student’s intended professional discipline is generally performed by division heads, department heads, program directors, academic advisors, and other selected faculty. Students who desire an interview with their assigned academic advisor can procure their advisor’s schedule each term from the Office of Student Services. After the academic advisors meets with the students, if more advising is required, the advisor will contact the academic department to ensure appropriate measures are made in order to better serve the students. All comments will be placed in CampusNexus.

Other FNU employees might also be called upon to advise students concerning academic matters at FNU.

5.10a The Monitoring of Student Academic Advisement

  1. The students are surveyed concerning their use of and resultant attitudes toward FNU academic advisement.
  2. In the survey issued by the Office of Research and Assessment, a section concerns itself with the academic advice given by admissions, the registrars’ office, the faculty, Director of Student Services, campus deans, and the VP of Academic Affairs as detailed in the Institutional Effectiveness Master Plan.
