19.5 Access to Personnel Files

FNU maintains personnel files on all active employees if they are employed at FNU.

Terminated employees’ files are maintained for five years after separation.

These files contain information regarding your work performance, any disciplinary actions taken, absences, time off, pay history, personal information, etc. These files are the property of FNU and access to the information they contain is restricted.

Generally, only supervisors and management personnel who have a legitimate reason to review information in a file are allowed to do so.

With reasonable advance notice, you may review material in your file but only in FNU’s Office of Human Resources and in the presence of the individual appointed by FNU to maintain the file. Employees are prohibited from copying or removing their personnel file, or any contents therein, from the Human Resources Department.
