Informed Consent

It is the responsibility of the clinical faculty to verify that every student is introduced to the patient as a Physical Therapist Assistant student or intern, and the patient has the right to refuse the student’s participation in or observation of the rendering of physical therapy services if so desired. The student is responsible for maintaining strict confidentiality of any and all personal or protected health information (including following HIPAA) received through the patient’s medical chart, medical providers, patient, or patient’s family and caregivers. This policy is meant to protect the rights and privacy of the patient.
