Exams

All written exams are timed. During the Fall semester students will be provided 2 minutes per question. In all subsequent semesters, students will be provided 1.5 minutes per question to reflect the timing on the NPTE.

If the student must miss an exam, a make-up exam will be provided at a place and time designated by the course Instructor, DCE, or PD. A make-up exam will occur only if the course Instructor is notified at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled examination and with an excuse that is deemed valid by the instructor.

If the student arrives late for an examination, no extra time will be provided to the student to complete the exam. The Program Director will determine if a case is an extenuating circumstance and will communicate the decision to the course instructor.

The passing score for all final written exams is a 77%. If the student retakes the exam and still does not achieve the 77% minimum, the student is dismissed from the program. The maximum course grade following dismissal is a 79%.
