Academic Advising

All Physical Therapist Assistant core program faculty act as academic advisors for declared majors. Students are encouraged to seek academic advising on matters related to PTA degree requirements, coursework or when needing additional assistance or tutoring. Each student is assigned a core faculty academic advisor. Twice each semester, the faculty will post a sign-up sheet for advising sessions. Each student is required to sign up each time for academic advising.

Faculty participate in “weekly encounters” with their advisees in an informal fashion to answer questions, provide guidance, and build rapport with the students. Any significant issues that arise are addressed in a subsequent formal advising session(s) and documented.
