Readmission to the Program following Dismissal
Student Readmission is contingent upon:
- If the student is dismissed during semester 3: the student must re-apply to program.
- If the student is dismissed during semester 4 or 5: readmission is based on space availability and will require a written request and meeting with the readmission committee.
- Following readmission to the program, if the student is dismissed for a second time, no further readmission will be granted unless the student can provide proof of an extenuating circumstance and will be at the discretion of the readmission committee.
The student may apply for readmission within 2 months of dismissal from the program. The written request will be submitted to the Program Director and include the following two components: 1) address the circumstances that led to the student’s dismissal and 2) discuss the changes in behavior and practices the student will make in order to be successful in a second attempt. The student will also be required to meet with the readmission committee.
Decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis by the readmission committee. The student will be informed of the decision, either for or against readmission, in writing within two weeks of meeting with the committee. For students granted readmission, the letter will include conditions for readmission as decided by the committee. The student will be required to sign the letter, one copy will be kept by the student and the second copy will be placed in the student’s file.
A student will only be considered for readmission to the PTA program once. If the student is dismissed from the program a second time, the student will not be considered a candidate for readmission.
For readmission to the University to follow another course of study, refer to the University Catalog.
