Definitions

Objectives: A description what areas of knowledge are imparted in the course.

Outcomes: Descriptions of the skills or knowledge students are expected to leave the program with.

Goals: The desired results the program envisions, plans and commits to achieve.

Skills Checks: Testing of individual skills using a designated rubric.

Peer Check-off: Testing of individual skills by student peers using designated rubrics in preparation for the skills checks testing with faculty members.

Lab Exam: Testing of a group of skills related to a case scenario including patient-PTA student interaction, documentation, communication and professional behaviors.

Final Lab Exam: Comprehensive testing of any or all skills learned during a course, which may include skills taught in previous courses, related to a case scenario including patient-PTA student interaction, documentation, communication and professional behaviors.
