Applying for Federal Student Aid
Florida National University participates in the Title IV Federal Student Aid programs administered by the U.S. Department of Education. To apply for federal financial aid, students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) annually.
- Get Prepared: Prior to initiating your FAFSA®, students are required to gather essential personal and financial information. Advance preparation will facilitate a more seamless application process and assist in preventing any delays. https://studentaid.gov/apply-for-aid/fafsa/filling-out
- Complete the FAFSA® Form: Students must submit the FAFSA® at FAFSA® Application | Federal Student Aid as early as possible. The form becomes available every year on October 1. Early filers often receive the best access to limited federal, state, and institutional funds (such as Federal Work-Study or FSEOG). https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa
- Florida National University’s School Codes: To ensure your FAFSA is sent to Florida National University, students must include the appropriate school code:
- Main Campus & Distance Learning: 017069
- South Campus: E00834
- Training Center: E00835
- Review FAFSA Submission Summary: Students are encouraged to carefully review the FAFSA Submission Summary, ensure there are no mistakes on their FAFSA form, and update data if necessary.
- Respond to Requests for Documentation: The Financial Aid Office may require additional forms or verification documents to process students' aid. Students who promptly respond and meet all deadlines will avoid delays or loss of eligibility.
- Review and Accept Financial Aid Offer: Students must review the awards offered once the aid becomes available. They may accept, reduce, or decline each type of aid. Instructions will be sent via email or through the FNU portal. https://studentaid.gov/complete-aid-process/accept-aid
