Student Financial Assistance
Florida National University is committed to assisting its students in meeting university expenses through federal aid, if the student qualifies, and/or other methods such as loans or deferred payment plans.
Federal Student Aid is financial help for eligible students to pay for educational expenses when the student is enrolled in an eligible program. There are three categories of federal student aid: grants, work-study and loans. FNU assists its qualified students in obtaining this type of financial assistance. The University participates in six student financial aid programs supported by the United States Department of Education and Florida Department of Education (https://studentaid.gov/h/understand-aid/how-aid-works).
The Office of Financial Aid at Florida National University aims to meet your financial needs by combining all aid funds you are eligible for, providing you with a comprehensive financial aid package. Enable the students to fulfill their educational goals by providing an effective program of financial advisement.
Florida National University recognizes that, because it mainly serves a low-income Hispanic student body, the university must provide information that adequately helps students pursue their higher education goals. Thus, the university aids the student to:
- Understand and recognize the various types of available funds and the student’s rights and responsibility in the use of those funds.
- Understand the procedures for the procuring of grants, scholarships, loans, and other available student funding.
- Alert the students to the ramifications of borrowing money and other financial arrangements they might make to further their education.
- Educate the financial aid staff through the participation in financial aid seminars at least once a year to develop their competency in the field and thus their ability to fully explain financial aid matters to students.
- Determine that the financial aid staff is courteous, considerate, and helpful in assisting the students.
Financial Aid Office Hours
Operation hours are the same as the University:
Monday through Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
