Purpose and Applicability

The PTA Student Handbook includes and establishes policy for the implementation and management of the physical therapist assistant educational program. Policies and procedures play an important role in the effective implementation of a PTA educational program and the success of the students who participate in the program. Thus, PTA program faculty must develop and implement documented policies and procedures which are consistent with the institutional policies and procedures, the Commission on Accreditation of Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) criteria and professional standards as published in the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) documents.
