Late Submission and Assignment Policy
Late Submission and Assignment Policy
Students are expected to submit all assignments and complete assessments by the due dates provided in the syllabus, including tests, quizzes, discussion boards, papers, other assignments, etc. If a student will not complete any assignment or assessment on time, the student must notify the instructor in writing. Unless prior written approval is received, deductions will be assessed based on the following minimum guidelines:
• A 10% deduction for assignments received from one (1) to seven (7) days late.
• A 20% deduction for assignments received from eight (8) to 14 days late.
• A grade of 0% for any assignment received 15 or more days late, unless extenuating circumstances are documented (e.g., medical emergencies, family crises).
The guidelines are the minimum; more stringent guidelines may be defined in syllabi or program handbooks. Because timeliness is imperative for discussion boards and certain other projects, a late submission may not be accepted.
