Repeating Courses

Students may repeat courses taken at Florida National University to improve the cumulative grade point average. The credit is given for the last grade earned when repeating a course. Repeated courses will appear on the student’s transcript. The first attempt will also be shown, but the cumulative grade point average will be computed based on the last attempt only. In the case of repeating a course to improve the GPA, tuition fees will be entirely the student’s responsibility.

In the evaluation of satisfactory progress, in addition to the minimum credits earned and grade point average each time they are taken, repeated courses will be counted as credits attempted. When successfully completed, they will count as credits earned.

A student failing a course may still be eligible for financial aid upon repeating it. The student must seek advice at the Financial Aid office.
