SON 2614 Introduction to Sonographic Physics and Instrumentation

This course presents the theoretical approach to understanding the fundamentals of ultrasound physics, instrumentation, image characteristics, artifacts, and bio-effects. The ergonomics of proper scanning techniques will also be presented. Manipulation of technique controls, basic mathematical concepts, various Doppler modalities, equipment artifacts, QC/QA procedures, 3D fundamentals, contrast applications, shear wave elastography and bio effects are covered.
